Prologue: Means to an End
A boy of about 17 held another younger male to him as they hid behind the wall of an old factory. They both had dark black hair, and a medium, muscular build. Unlike the older male, the younger had dark silver eyes while the older had piercing blue ones. Beside them, there was two girls.
“Kasuka, is your sister alright?” Asked the older male.
The older girl looked at the younger female then nodded her head. “Yeah, Charbonneau, Jamie’s fine. What about Rad?”
“I’m fine! I didn’t need you guys to save me!” The younger male pulled away from his brother. “I’m old enough to take of myself you know!”
“You almost got Jamie severely hurt, maybe even killed, Rad! You have to watch who you pick fights with!” Charbonneau growled, slamming his brother against the wall. “Why don’t you ever think! You aren’t as tough as you act, Rad!”
Jamie grabbed the older brothers arm. “I’m fine, really. They were picking on me. Rad was only trying to help.
Her sister, Kasuka nodded. “Yeah, its no biggie.” No one could tell that the two girls were sisters. Kasuka, the older, had long red hair and dark chocolate eyes while her younger sister had golden blonde hair that was cut into a bob and glowing green eyes. “Just let him go, alright Char?”
As soon as Charbonneau did so, Rad punched him in the face. “I hate you!” He yelled, running out of the factory and into the horizon. He couldn’t stand Charbonneau sometimes really. The older male was always telling him how weak he was and how stupid he acted. Rad was only 2 years younger then his brother, making him 15 and to tell the truth, even if he wasn’t that strong physically, he knew his heart was in the right place when he was trying to rescue Jamie from the bullies.
The four of them lived in a boarding house together. Kasuka and Charbonneau had been close since day one ten years ago. Both felt the need to protect their younger siblings from the world and everyone in it while Jamie and Rad bonded because they were the youngest children there and could relate to each other. Rad even found himself having a bit of a crush on Jamie despite the fact that she was a year older then him.
“Where am I?” Rad slowed from his run to take in his surroundings. He was in a slum part of the town with many more factories and such; most of which were abandoned. He curiously checked a few out until he felt a tug at his mind and turned to face one of the older buildings. ‘Maybe I should go check that one out.’
He walked slowly into the building, admiring the giant machines and such that were left inside. Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks as the hair on his neck stood on end. He knew someone was watching him. “H…Hello?” Ha called out into the emptiness.
A teenage boy appeared before him with dark pink hair. He was dressed in an old style Japanese type kimono of sorts. The color was dark black with bright pink cherry blossom petals. The darkness of his outfit made him blend into the background as the setting sun darkened the old warehouse. “Hello, visitor. Please, I need your help.”
Rad stepped back as he noticed the fangs in the boys mouth. “Help?” He asked, his curiosity getting the best of him.
“I can’t talk for long but my sister, Aelita, needs you. Take that elevator,” As he pointed his clawed hand, Rad followed his gaze to an elevator with a single light over it, illuminating it. “Go to Lyoko. Tell no one who you are. This is the most important part. I am trapped in Lyoko, I cannot escape. Xana has me trapped in the Lost Sector. He’s gone right now, enlisting the help of someone else so that he can come to this world from that one. You must go and help the Lyoko Warriors defeat him and his new allies. Remember, it is of the utmost importance that you tell NO ONE. My life, and the world, rest on you.” Suddenly, the stranger started to phase out. “He is trying to stop me from talking to you.” The voice was broken and Rad could barely understand it. “Take the elevator all the was down. Help me. Please.” Then, just like that, he was gone.
Rad stood for a moment, frozen in place. ‘What should I do?’ His heart was beating loudly in his chest, deafening his ears. ‘This is my chance. My chance to show my brother that I am strong.’ Finally, he got into the elevator and held his breathe as it carried him downward into the unknown.
