Summary: This is a short one shot I wrote about what Katara is thinking/feeling as the gang leaves ba sing sei after Aang has just been shot down by Azula.

It was the smell that took her back. Even as she frantically tried to heal him her mind was elsewhere.
She was back in that icy clearing clasping another body to her bosom.
The same smell.
Charred, blackened, burnt flesh. Ash in the snow.
