The New Double D
Chapter One: First Sight
Takes place during freshman year.
Catching something out of the corner of his eye, Double D noticed a moving van pulling up next door.
"New neighbours!" he said excitedly to himself as he watched curiously out the window.
It took a few moments before someone opened the passenger's side door. There was the sound of metal on metal as a dark, foreboding figure emerged from the vehicle, shaking the hair out of his face.
"Oh my," Double D mumbled, torn between fascination and disgust, his eyes glued on this mysterious teen. The boy was seemingly ageless; Edd guessed that he could've been anywhere from thirteen to twenty-five.
Heading toward the front door of his new house, the dark youth lifted his head, his view temporarily shifting to Double D, who was still gawking from his window.
Edd jumped slightly as the mystery teen looked in his direction.
Their eyes met momentarily and the boy locked Double D in his cold gaze, his electric blue eyes staring through him.
Something about the dark youth forced Edd to continue staring at him; he couldn't tear his eyes away.
Double D let out a light whimper as the boy disappeared through his front door, vanishing from view. He was finally able to turn away from the window, his heart pounding hard in his chest.
"What just happened?" he vocalized as he unconsciously began to hyperventilate.
Returning to his room, Double D started pacing, thinking desperately about the frightening new addition to the cul-de-sac.
