Disclaimer: This is a work of pure fiction and I do not own any of the My Life as a Teenage Robot characters.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: To the readers, I began writing this story before the 3rd season episodes of "My Life as a Teenage Robot" were shown on Television. I regard Misty's third and final episode from the cartoon show as more like character assassination than character development.
In my story, Misty's character is as she was at the end of her second appearance on the show in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Troubles." The carefree alien girl still loves fun and being a teenager and is still friends with her best robot-girl Jenny. In her last episode, "Mist Opportunities", she only fought Jenny because of an argument. In my story, perhaps the two friends have patched their friendship back together since then?
You can choose any way you like for how Misty returned to her real and true character, and came back to Tremorton. The point is that Misty is back in town and once again she is best of friends with Jenny. I prefer to think this definitely would have happened in the canon of the show, if there had been more episodes of our favorite purple heroine.
Chapter 1 Lets Do Lunch
Misty let out a small sigh as her orgasm subsided, the feeling lingering for a while in a pleasant and recently all too familiar glow. She wiped her slick fingers on her nearby clothing. Though the orgasm had been nice, it had felt just slightly less than fulfilling. The burst of chemical sensations was an undeniable treat, but Misty really wondered if the supposed whole sex thing would live up to all of its reputation. Granted, masturbation and sex were not the same thing but they had to feel similar, right? Until recently, she had believed she was not prone to masturbation unless she got that occasional itch. Masturbating for the sake of the act just did not give her much of a thrill.
"Well, I've been getting thrilled at least every other day lately." she muttered wryly as she rose to her feet.
That fact worried her. She never used to masturbate very often. Even when she had learned about the act initially, it had never held much interest for her. But recently her thighs seemed to be tingling more often and her hands seemed to snake their way down there almost without her knowing. But that merely annoyed her more than it worried her. On the other hand, what nagged at her mind before, after, and during these little sloppy sessions was her breasts.
Since just before returning to earth, her bosom had begun to finally develop, though it had been almost unnoticeable when she had first met Jenny again. Now her once washboard chest had first grown out to a very pleasant A-cup and then further to a B-cup. That was all well and good, making Misty feel quite happy, though combat had become slightly off-balance until she got used to it. What actually bothered her was how her breasts had begun to feel odd for the last two weeks or so. She could swear that they were getting bigger, which they actually might be, but they certainly felt different from their development before. They seemed a little heavier than they had been previously and more firm too. Firm in an odd way that she did not know how to describe.
These two facts only troubled her when taken in tandem with her mammaries aching from time to time. She had wondered more than once if she was ill or had somehow picked up something nasty in her system. Mostly though she assured herself that it was just a natural growth spurt. Furthermore the aches never lasted for more than a few hours, and they had happened only a few times.
She sighed again as she gathered her clothing and headed off to do some quick laundry. Lately, she seemed to be doing a lot of washing her bedding and underwear to keep them clean of her own spilled juices. As she began to work at cleaning them, she noticed the time, and hurried to finish, then get ready for school.

The food in the cafeteria was once again a culinary adventure and Misty mildly wondered how it had not killed her yet. Still the less than appetizing food would have been more bearable if she were not sitting alone at a table all to herself. Normally lunch was a pleasant respite from classes to chat and laugh with friends, to speak of the latest fashion trends and popular culture events, and generally be a noisy teenager. However today, like the last several days recently, she ate alone.
Misty chewed absently away at her lunch, thinking, "You never know how much you miss people until they aren't around."
In this case, the two people she most often spent time with, Jenny and Brad, were out of the country with Mrs. Wakemen. Jenny's mother had been invited to show some foreign ally governments the effectiveness of the XJ9 series and Nora, being the level headed business woman scientist she was, had immediately accept. Jenny had at first been less then enthusiastic since the trip would disrupt her school schedule for a whole quarter and take her away from her friends. This was solved by Mrs. Wakemen pulling some strings to get Brad free passage on the trip and an exemption from school activities as well. Once she had Brad coming with them, not only did that give Jenny a friend to tag along, it also got Brad arguing on Mrs. Wakemen's side to coax Jenny into the idea. Thus Jenny, Brad, and Mrs. Wakemen had left Tremorton almost a week ago to travel.... and Misty had probably not been this bored in years.
Since leaving her home world with the Teen Team, what seemed a long time ago, Misty had been on one long adventure after another. She had almost always had someone around to chat with when there was no fighting to be done. After the team had broken up, she had visited several tumultuous worlds to engage in the combat there. However this had proved not as simple as she had wanted, since most worlds were involved in some war or other, which of course meant politics. That was no fun at all, because whenever you were not fighting to save lives, you were wondering just which side you should be fighting for. And of course, war was all about killing the enemy, or permanently disabling them, not saving them. Certainly not hero's work.
Then there had been the worlds with less political trouble that were either so militarized that criminals or villains were outright killed before they were arrested. But what had really made everything after the team no fun was the lack of company. Misty had been without ANYONE to talk with, especially any girl friends. The boys on the team had been nice, but beyond their common like for battle, their style of fighting and enjoyment of it had been completely varied.
Thus, it was not so surprising in retrospect that Misty had returned to earth. At least it felt that way to her. The planet was relatively peaceful, besides the occasional Cluster attack or random villain. It was not over militarized nor were the villains political, which meant defeating them was just good clean fun with no consequences. At first, Misty had returned to see Jenny. Then later decided to stay because she, like Jenny, had found a normal life more fun than traipsing around looking for trouble or twiddling one's thumbs until it came to you. And of course, she got to be a hero on the side with a good friend.
"Oh star systems, this is boring..." sighed Misty resting her chin on a black gloved hand. She looked around the room filled with students.
Most people did not pay her any attention after they had figured out she was not going to kill them. Her last power trip with the Crust Cousins had certainly made her feared by most students but had not made many friends among them.
According to Jenny, when the Crust Cousins had heard Misty was getting a second chance at school, they had positively turned pale with fear at the news. They never seemed to talk to Jenny and Misty when they were together, and certainly avoided contact with Misty as much as possible. The Crust Cousins leaving Misty alone was much enjoyed by her, however the lack of any interaction with the other students was not. Attempts to make new friends had been unsuccessful.
While she had more social grace and understanding of life as a teenager than Jenny did, people were either too afraid of her to speak or plainly did not want to. These latter people were generally of the snobby variety, which Misty suspected hung around the Crusts or were just racist bigots. Brad and Jenny had been some of the few people that would actually talk with her, but that had been more than enough at the time. She had laughed and had a better time than she could remember with Jenny, and Brad too on occasion. With them away for an extended period of time, she was rather irritated to admit she was starved for company.
Misty's thoughts were broken in upon by a commotion nearby, and slightly annoyed she turned to see what it was. The site that greeted her would have been almost comical under different circumstances.
A group of four boys were clustered around one thin lanky boy who was suspended upside-down in their midst. Each of his feet were gripped by one of the larger boys at the ankle and each was being held just high enough to keep the unfortunate victim above the ground. The sound that had broken in on her thoughts had been the voice of the trapped student as he was shaken by other boys who were obviously toying with him. A few girls stood nearby laughing at the thin boy's plight. As Misty looked, she thought the hanging boy looked familiar.
"Bullies." thought Misty, feeling further annoyed. She turned around in her seat and stood up.
Dispatching underage twerps with a penchant for making others feel helpless was hardly her idea of fun. Still, she did not like seeing the innocent, or more often simply the weak, picked on by the strong. Striding across the lunchroom, she assumed mist form when she was half way there and swooped down among the group, plucking the victim's ankles from the grasp of the young thug and lifting him higher to safety.
"Misty?" came a voice from below her.
At hearing her name, she looked down at the boy, and discovered he was none other than Sheldon, a shy friend of Jenny's whom Misty had not become much acquainted with yet.
"Hey Shell," she answered with her naturally cheery voice.
Having gone for several days alone, Misty was for the briefest instant startled by the sound of the normal tone of her voice. But a second later she caught herself, and then looked sternly down at the other boys below saying, "Alright, you've had your fun. Go away before you hurt yourselves."
The boys looked at each other, as it seems all men are apt to do when given orders they don't like, seeming to confirm their next action together. "Aw, we were done with you anyway." said one before turning and walking away with the others following.
As they descended, Sheldon, stilling hanging upside down, breathed a relieved "Thanks," to Misty.
Misty smiled. That was nice for a change. She had done a lot of saving of people in the last several days. Most had either run away from her in terror or been too preoccupied with some aspect of their tragic misfortune to offer gratitude, usually by a now destroyed automobile or gazebo. Of course, those reactions were better than the people who acted like Misty had owed them one free saving.
Awkwardly turning the boy right-side up, she set him on the carpet of the lunchroom and smiled as she replied, "You're welcome Sheldon."
"Fancy meeting you here, heh heh," he said back as he regained his balance and stood up straight. "I thought you'd be eating up on the roof or something."
"Not today, it's raining," she answered. "Hey, those guys have got some guts. Everyone in school knows that Jen's your friend, and they gotta know she could wrap creeps like that around a telephone pole."
"Yeah, well, normally they leave me alone. But they know Jenny's gone for the quarter." he answered.
"Oh," Misty replied. She became quiet for a moment. Sheldon was quiet too.
Thinking the conversation was finished, he moved as if to go his own way. As he did so, an idea suddenly came to Misty. Realizing that here was someone who would obviously talk to her, she continued by saying, "Well, why don't you come eat with me then, Shell? I could certainly use the company. With Brad and Jen gone, lunch's now both tasteless and boring."
Sheldon paused, and then turned to face her. He stood up straight, and looked at her for a few seconds. She looked right back at him, while he seemed to consider her briefly.
Misty had a chance to peer at his face closely for possibly the first time. His eyes were rather wide as he watched her, but his mouth was curved slightly into a small smile. He did not look afraid, which was both good and largely expected. Misty figured that if Sheldon hung around Jenny and Brad, he would probably be the type of human to enjoy her company as well.
After only a few seconds, Sheldon chuckled at Misty's joke and nodded to her as he grinned. Misty smiled and led him back to her still empty table.
"About Jenny,... yeah," chimed up Sheldon after a moment, "I know what you mean. I miss Jenny a lot since she's gone," he said as he momentarily became dreamy eyed.
Misty coughed into her fist and he gave a jerk, then continued saying, "Brad's nice too. He's fun to talk with, even if he does not have ANY taste in classic movies or films. And of course, neither of them are very interested in museums or conventions. Anyway, besides both of them, I don't really talk with anyone else. I've been pretty lonely lately."
Misty gave a “Hmm” in response as she chewed some more unknown food she supposed passed for bread. She thought musingly, "He's rather candid, isn't he?"
"You don't make friends easily do you?" she observed aloud.
"Yeah, not really. You'd think someone else out there would have the good taste to enjoy classic sci-fi or at least some of the great old films." Sheldon said in between bites of lunch, not really looking at Misty as he poked his fork at his food, which defiantly resisted penetration by the utensil. "Or playing video games or working on projects." he added.
Misty almost sighed. She remembered partly why she and Sheldon had never talked. In between making lovey eyes at Jenny, he always seemed to go on talking about some museum exhibit or zoo expo or robotic festival whenever he was not chatting about some television show or movie from popular culture, normally in the genres of science fiction. That really was not Misty's cup of tea when it came to entertainment, but after nearly 5 days without any conversation, she was willing to give it a try. Plus, video games might not be so bad.
"So, what have you been up to lately Misty?" asked Sheldon, breaking in on her musing.
The abrupt turn in the conversation caught Misty slightly off guard. From what she remembered, Sheldon could carry a topic for a long time, and a carry the conversation practically on his own. Two facts that made him somewhat annoying at points. If he had the courage to open his mouth to Jenny, he rarely closed it until he had her attention, which was seldom, or it was shut for him by Jenny herself, which was often.
"Um, well I've been doing the local superhero thing." Misty answered.
"Oh? Really? Cool! How's that going? It must be pretty tough." replied Sheldon.
"Nah, it's not that bad. Since Jen's out of town, the city asked me to take over her local duties as much as I could. They actually wanted to ask the Silver Shell. You know about him, right?" asked Misty as she paused.
Sheldon nodded stiffly, shifting slightly in his seat.
Misty continued, "Yeah, they wanted to ask him because he's been around longer and I guess they'd heard about my little... uh... adventure with the Crust Cousins last time I was in school."
Sheldon knew what she meant, though he had not had any part in it. Jenny and Misty had waged a prank war with the Crust Cousins that had reached monumental proportions at one point, but Misty had taken the revenge part a bit too far, reveling in the snobby girls' terror. She had been expelled more for her attitude than for any hard evidence and conviction, since the Crusts had hardly been innocent in the matter.
"Um, yeah. Hey, about that," interjected Sheldon into the pause, "why'd they let you back in here? Not that I'm not glad your back or anything."
"Oh, after I helped save the city a few times and got the local superhero to vouch for me, the city council felt rather obligated to give me another chance. And," She paused and then leaned in closer, grinning at Sheldon slyly as she continued, "it probably helped that I asked whether they'd rather have me in school taking classes or out in the city unsupervised. Guess which one they chose?"
Catching her meaning, Sheldon made a mirthful grin in response, showing all of his teeth.
"Uh..., about that actually." spoke Sheldon slowly, not making eye contact with Misty as he talked. "Were you gonna... ya know, really...?"
"Mess with their minds? I dunno. Probably, I think." answered Misty in an honest, matter of fact tone. "I talked a lot with Jen about it after and we kinda guess I'd been away from regulars for so long, that well, I sorta forgot about normal life. You know, I'd spent years traveling and not all of them with the Team. You kinda of lose touch when you're always fighting villains."
Sheldon blinked, absorbing the information. After a second he shrugged. "I guess there's no hard feelings between you and Jenny?" he asked after a pause.
"What? Between me and my Robot Girl friend? Never! We're best girls, the Dynamic-Duo!" replied Misty with enthusiasm smiling as she spoke. "I mean, yeah she tried to stop me when I went after the Crust Creeps, but I don't mind. She didn't attack me or anything and I know she wouldn't have either. She's cool."
"Anyway," she continued, "The City let me back in here as long as I promised to be good. So Jen and I've been hanging out again, which is totally cool. Then she and Brad go on that road trip of theirs, and since the city doesn't have a way to contact the Silver Shell, they got me to do it. I think they were kind of embarrassed about it, but I don't mind. I'm actually glad I'm doing it because I've be really bored otherwise. With Brad and Jen gone, I've been kinda lonely myself."
A pause arose then and passed as each grappled with their lunch room meals, trying to somehow ingest the supposed nutrients. "Your acne's cleared up. Your face looks pretty smooth now." commented Misty between bites.
"Thanks. Guess washing your face everyday really does help." chuckled Sheldon, in between bites of his own food.
There was another moment of silence between them as they finished their meals. Sheldon had listened fairly attentively to Misty without trying to take over the conversation, which almost struck her as strange.
"Maybe people actually talk to him so little that he's hardly ever given the chance to listen?" she thought idly. "He's at least someone to talk with."
A few more small conversations arose and finished while each of them slowly ate their meal through the lunch period. In between the moments of talking, Misty thought she saw Sheldon's eyes inspecting her while trying to be discrete about it. Once or twice she caught Sheldon's gaze with her own and he turned away in what appeared to be a natural move, though she had to wonder if he was purposely acting casual about it. When he did actually look at her while they talked, he seemed to pay a lot of attention but also seemed to not stare at her directly. By the end of the the several minutes, Misty was fairly certain he was at least slightly nervous over chatting with her.
As the lunch period neared its end and the return to classes drew ever closer, Misty's thoughts turned towards the finish of the school day and the afternoon that awaited her. Realizing that another afternoon of long boring combat practice alone loomed ahead unless somehow avoided, she decided that company with Sheldon was better than none.
"Besides," she thought. "It's not like I'm the girl Sheldon wants. It can't be that bad with him."
She finished the last of her food, and then she asked, "So Shell, you wanna go hang out sometime? Do something together? I mean, we're friends with Brad and Jenny, but we're kinda friends on our own too, right?"
Inwardly, Sheldon was slightly taken aback and he actually jerked slightly at the question. This time he stared her right in the face and blinked several times while he looked at her expression. No one ever wanted to hang out with him, unless they wanted him to do something for them. This was something new.
"Really? Sure! What do you wanna do? Do you wanna go see a museum or go somewhere or catch a movie? Or do you like playing video games? I have a bunch of those." he practically bubbled.
"Anything." interrupted Misty before he could go on. "Anything that's fun."
Inside her head, Misty thought, "Well even sci-fi will be better than training alone in the forests for the next month," and resigned herself to a genre of entertainment which was less thrilling to her.
"Alright, cool. There's nothing really going on right now, and there's no good movies in the theaters but we can go to my house and just watch some classic movies. My parents work over seas, so I have the house to myself for weeks at a time. I have all the movies of Star Trek. Of course we'd have to be weary of the movie rule. I also have both the original series and the Next Generation series. That's a classic."
Misty sighed openly then. Sheldon did not notice. It seemed the entertainment would be sci-fi, as she had somewhat feared. Well, certainly she should be able to work in some video game playing in between his movies.
Sheldon continued undaunted, "Plus I have got a huge collection of Bruce Lee movies, and a bunch of Jackie Chan's greatest flicks too. You know, they say that even though its been almost a hundred years since he lived, there has never been a more talented martial artist in film than Bruce Lee. You'd probably like his stuff, you know, you being a ninja and all."
Misty had been idly picking at the last remnants of her food with her spoon when she heard the words Ninja and Martial Arts. Suddenly Sheldon had her full attention.
"Did you say, 'Martial Arts'?" asked Misty looking directly at Sheldon as a grin began to spread across her face. Maybe this would work out after all.
******
On the other side of the lunchroom, at a table set with clean table cloth and candles, and filled with Tremorton High's most popular teenage girls, the Crust Cousins stared balefully across the hubbub and motion of the other students at the purple heroine and her new mealtime companion.
"Oh bother, Tiffany!" exclaimed Brit Crust as she clenched one hand into a fist on top of the hand embroidered silk tablecloth. "It appears that purple haze of a alien wench has finally got herself someone to converse with in her leisure time, even after we labored so assiduously to circumvent such an occurrence."
"Yeah Cuz, she gone an' got herself a boy tah chat wit'." rumbled Tiff, sitting next to her as she sipped at a canned beverage.
Brit Crust relaxed her clenched hand, then grasped a nearby china teacup and raised it gingerly to her lips. She sipped at the warm liquid, but never took her malevolent eyes from the super girl and her new companion. The other girls at the table chatted idly amongst themselves, merely basking in the glow of popularity that the Crust cousins emanated. Or, at least the aura that the blind sheep students in the school believed the two girls emanated.
Brit spoke over the lip of her teacup. "It appears that we neglected to disperse our anti-alien sentiments to everyone in the student body. Who is that boy, Tiff? Do we know him?"
"Him?" chirruped Tiff, narrowing her large eyes and peering across the lunchroom at the male student. "I think that's Sheldon. Ya know, that nerd who likes Jenny."
Tiff visibly shuddered as she spoke the word 'nerd.'
"Oh him." Brit practically spat the word. "He's one of that tin-plated freak's merry associates then."
Then without moving her head at all, she looked out of the corner of her eye at Tiff's shudder next to her and said, "Be still yourself Tiffany Crust. Sheldon is a geek, not a nerd. We needn't be disgusted with him so. There is a difference after all."
"There is?" asked Tiff, turning to look at her cousin.
"Yes," said Brit, shifting her eyes back to Misty and Sheldon. "Nerds are...." At the word 'nerd' Brit shuddered involuntarily as well. "Well, Sheldon obviously possesses some level of talent in the mechanical shop discipline, implying knowledge and activities other than fantasy related games and communing alone in one's room for intolerable lengths of time."
Tiff let out a 'Humph' and turned back to watching the couple as well. "Well, if ya says so Cuz. I guess 'cause he ain't got pimples no mor' he ain't that creepy."
"This is positively dreadful my dear Tiffany." continued Brit without replying to Tiff's remark. "That girl returns to school and rejoins her forces with that overgrown blue toaster, uniting with her against our social status. Then, as fortune would favor us, the metal freak leaves for months and her foreign companion is reduced to her own company."
"Yeah, an' she's been alone ever since 'cause we told everyone tah not talk tah her." chimed in Tiff with a grin.
"Precisely." replied Brit. "United together, those social abnormalities are most likely beyond our capacity to overcome. But separated, we are afforded a truly delicious opportunity to enact some much deserved vengeance and punishment upon that purple haired buffoon."
"But what we gonna do now Cuz? She ain't alone no mor'." asked Tiff.
"Her enforced solitude was but a smaller component of a greater plan." answered Britt taking another sip of her tea. "She was too confident on her own to be downtrodden like that aluminum idiot XJ9, but no one is immune to loneliness. We have been watching for a means through which to assail her with necessary repercussions for her ill treatment of us. Unfortunately, she seems susceptible to little else save solitude, and open action against her would only result in the principle taking an uncomfortably personal role in the proceedings. No. Until now we have had to watch for a weakness to appear for us to take advantage of. Her slow unhappy misery,... well perhaps 'boredom,' at being alone is an appetizer while we wait for the main course to begin."
"Maybe we can use that boy." proposed Tiff, grinning at the slender male.
"Perhaps." mused Brit, finally setting down her teacup. She spared a seconds glance at Tiff's expression, and was not pleased to note that the punk girl's face bore a look of something akin to interest, with a possible undertone of ogling or lustful desire. Tiff had never been one to restrain her emotions nor the display of them. Brit followed Tiff's gaze, and found that it rested on Sheldon. Was she looking at him? Thinking about him?
Brit shook her head. Surely she was mistaken? She settled her eyes back to the couple across the room. "We shall have to watch him as well. It is a true pity that no one can devise the location of that lavender bimbo's home domicile."
"Yeah, we can't find where she's stayin' neither." added Tiff, completely missing the fact she was repeating what Brit had said.
Brit sighed at her cousin, but said, "We shall have to hope that something arises soon with sufficient promise for our purposes. This period with the freaks apart is not going to last forever."
Brit once more raised her teacup and took another drink.
"Maybe she an' that boy are gonna start datin'. Ya know, gettin' it on. Heh heh!" remarked Tiff with a grin and laugh at the lowbrow humor of the idea.
At hearing her cousin's words, Brit suddenly spluttered and lost of bit of tea over her chin. She wiped her mouth hurriedly, embarrassed at the accident. "That is absurd Tiffany. Who in their right mind would want to engage in a relationship with an alien-convention-reject, and a purple one no less?"
"But he's already got the hots fo' Miss Metallica, an' we all gotta get our rocks from someone." shot back Tiff with her expression still appearing to be suspiciously interested as she looked in Sheldon's direction.
Brit peered thoughtfully over at the boy and girl sitting alone in the other half of the lunchroom. "Hmm, you may have a point there dear cousin, though a rather crude one. We all do feel the need for physical companionship on occasion, and Sheldon has demonstrated a distinct lack of normality in the past such as would make him an amenable partner."
She paused for a moment to put down her teacup and rested her chin delicately on a gloved hand. "They will have to be watched indeed. Perhaps something will come of this."
"But how we gonna watch 'em Cuz?" asked Tiff.
"We won't be doing anything so mundane." replied Brit immediately, taking another sip of her drink. "We'll instigate someone less popular to do the task for us."
