I loved the story up until you killed katara. I do believe you are a very talented writer and I look forward to your other works. But this ending is absolutely terrible. He has a child with toph? Seriously?? It's like they went through all of that JUST FOR HER TO DIE. It was a total mood killer really. The better direction would have been to let them end up together. Sometimes a happy ending is just better for the story. Not a gloomy ending that completely ruins the mood of the story and leaves the reader saying wtf. I know you want to add twists and turns, but that was a bad twist. Sometimes the simpler road is the best. Thank you for writing this and keeping me sucked in for hours though . I did truly enjoy it.

I must say that so far I am a fan of all your Avatar Fictions. I'll probably read your other works shortly as well. Though, I can't help but notice in most of your avatar stories that Zuko usually uses his position to spirit Katara away or kidnap her when she is not willing at first. I think Slow heat is the only story you've written in which that senario doesn't happen. I certainly enjoyed both endings as well though the conversation between Aang and Roku had me wondering what would have happened if the war was prevented and Roku hadn't died in that volcano. Avatars seem to live notoriously long as Kyoshi exsisted 400 years ago, so it's not an insane notion that Roku could have lived for a few centuries as well. It might be an interesting premise to see how all the nations had faired if the war had never happened yet somehow their paths were still destined to cross. If the war has never happened, Iroh may have retained his position as fire lord and never lost his Son, Leaving other members of the royal family to make other alliances. Of course there's no certainty that Ozai still wouldn't have coveted and done what he could to try and take the throne. I personally think he and Azula are mentally unbalanced but the generations of war only increased those tendencies. It might be an interesting sennario to play with.
Also if you don't mind, I'd like to recommend a Fic and an Author to you. It's Zuko Centric by the author Vathara, and the story is Embers. It's an AU that starts after the beginning of the Second Season and it's wonderfully Complex. It's still in progress, but she's been faithfully updating every three weeks or so. I highly recommend reading it. She's an author whom really does her homework and it's a very realistic and more adult dealing with the characters and situations. Anyway, I look forward to more of your works and look forward to the completion of Volcano.

i've read all the chapters for this story and i have to say that i think you did a wonderful job in writing it. Once i started reading it i couldn't stop untill i got through all the chapters. I like it well enough that i have actually read it at least five times and will probably read it again. I am waiting for the next chapter in the alternate ending i really want to know how you finish it. Because i liked your writing style so much i have also read your other avatar stories and i can't say that i even remotely dislike any of them. i do sometimes get a laugh out of some of the spelling errors i see but i understand that it can happen easily when you don't have anyone to proof read the story. I know this is a long review but i had alot to say.
I'm looking forward to the continuation of slow heat and kiss of fire.

I didn't really like the alternate ending, it seemed a bit... weird.
The rest of the story was awesome though, it was really interesting to see their relationship (and them of course) grow and develop.
Good job!

Hello! I don't know if you've noticed yet or not, but Chapter 6 of Slow Heat doesn't have any indents or paragraph breaks or whatever you want to call them. The whole story is one big paragraph. I thought you would like to know. It makes it very hard to read.

It's a pretty good story, for the most part. I liked you trying to keep toward the show's storyline. I think you need another beta to go through it again, I've noticed a lot of grammar mistakes like using 'a' instead of 'an' which just throws off the story's mojo while you're reading. And a lot of times you spell Ba Sing Se with an i (Bai Sing Se).
Also, nothing against you, but I don't like people that are comment whores and hold out on posting a new chapter until they get X amount of reviews/comments/votes. It takes away from the real reason people review. You know, because they want to. The quality of the review should be more important than how many reviews you get. Ten reviews of 'omg i luved it!!!!11 MOAR!' are not equivalent to one real, thought out review that someone felt compelled to type. I don't comment and rate every story I read here on AFF.net because I want to have something worth the author taking the time to read, before I put in that captcha and hit the review button. If there's nothing to comment about, I don't review. Usually people who hold out until x number of reviews are in are ones who are out for ego-stroking and self love. This might not be true of you, but for the most part it is what I've found to be the reason they demand comments or reviews. If your writing is worth reading, people will read it regardless of whether or not they review it. Holding out chapters until you get reviews is a punishment to the people that really do enjoy the story but don't have anything positive to add other than 'I liked it'.
Good luck with your future stories.

I love this story, and I'm glad you're including an alternate ending, so it sort of ends on a happy note, though I love Kiss of Fire, too. The only story of yours that I like better than this one is Capture of the Maiden. You're such a great writer, and don't pay attention to the people criticizing this arc. It's awesome, they're just haters.
