Well, first I would like to say that I have read every single chapter of this story in a single sitting. And it was quite good --good enough infact to convince me to forego any sleep I could have gotten instead, before work demanded my attention.
Now with that said, I found your take on the Avatar storyline very creative, while still managing to capture that essence that makes the original story one that is so well loved. Your characterizations are very convincing; I do love you've kept more of the formal diologue of the show, as one of my biggest pet peeves when reading any fanfiction set in a world like Avatar The Last Air Bender, is when the authors modernize the speach with slang that you would never hear used in the show. I have on occation stumbled across a few errors which seem to me more accidental typos, or perhaps a flaw caused by the site uploading the story, than anything else. As they are minor they didn't confuse me too greatly, and are about the only thing I could point out in terms of a constructive critique as far as your story goes.
However this is one important thing I do feel the need to bring up; as a writer of many years now, and someone who has had her stories disected, analyzed, and generally picked apart. I wouldn't be able to leave what I feel is a good review without pointing out I dislike the way you go about asking for reviews in your notes. When a person writes a story to be published, they do so under the knowledge that they'll never truly be able to receive the opinions of those that purchase their stories. Yes they do recieve pay, but often the pay for published work isn't always that great unless the book itself catches on: Harry Potter, Lord of The Rings, etc.
One should never write under the expectation of anything other than the satisfaction of doing so; authors are a very special lot in life. There were times long ago when people who were gifted with the ability to tell a tale were thought very highly of, and still today their love of doing so is the reason so many new aspiring authors have sprung up through the world of fanfiction. Fanfiction authors are of course taking a story already well loved, and embellishing on them; exploring possibilities not explored by their creators. To do this for credit, or to use the threat of not going any further for a lack of it, is not something I am very fond of seeing. And I admit that, not the content of your story which I highly enjoyed, was perhaps the greatest dissapointment I recieved upon reading it.
My advice from one author to another, is not to get swept away in the number of reviews you receive. Instead cherish the knowledge that your story is being read and favored, if you receive reviews then it's only further evidence to what you as it's writer should already know. If you can't believe in your story without a lot of compliments, then you can't ever take it to it's full potential. It makes writing very hard, when you do it for those reasons. I can tell you enjoy writing by the effort and thought you've put into each chapter, never allow the number of reviewers to take that enjoyment from you. Write for love, but please dear, do not write for aknowledgement.
I'm sure if Iroh had actually existed, he would say something along the lines of, "Great people do not become great because they ask to be. They become great by doing what feels right to them, and only later find out it was right to other people as well."
I hope my review will be taken as I intend it to be, and no offence is ment by any of it. However if that is how it's taken, then I do apologize for that --just not for the review itself, as honesty is never something I think she come with regret. I do love your story, just not your approtch for receiving love for it. I hope to read more in the future, and wish you and your muse the best of luck in all of your writing challenges --future and present.
Sincerly,
Twilight Sovereign

I must say I am really digging the trubulent interaction and relation of Zuko & Katara. It will be interesting to see how you bring them together, and not just intimately.
But seriously bey get off your ego's dick. I don't mean any disrespect when I say this but come on, you'll stop writing if you don't any more reviews. Come on dude, either you write for the passion of it and be thankfully that there is a place for you to share these stories, and also be thankfull that there are a handfull of individuals who like reading these stoies, passionately! Either that or hang it up and call it quites.
As much as we like your stories and what not, this is not an obligation that you are required to for our salvation na, don't get it twisted na, the fans of Avatar and this site as well as others are grateful towards you for taking time out of your busy schedule to write these fics, BUT YOU AIN'T DOIN' US ANY FAVORS.
As I said before I DO NOT write this commentin a tone that is filled with spite, mallice, or any ill feelings toward you. I mean no disrespect at all man, but seriously you need a reality check.
You can't judge the amount of success your getting with your fics by how many comments & reviews your getting, but rather the quality and content of the review and comment.
As I said before LOVE the new chapter can't wait to see what happens next.
GOD BLESS!
P.S
For the love GOD PLEASE DON't speed up or make any alterations to YOUR storyloine and/or plot just because of what I and other people say. When I say this PLEASE DO NOT write in the next chapter that Katara and Zuko finally set aside their differences towards one antoher and fall in love with each other, you UNLESS THAT IS WHAT YOU ACTUALLY INTEND to write about next.
In short I'm saying do things your way. Do them as you see fit, but more importantly do them because you are passionate about it!
Take it easy and be safe man, come back sweeter and lot less bitter when you post your net chapter.
GOD BLESS!
