One quick legal note, in most of the civilized world, Molly is still considerably under the age of consent. Her relaitionship with Kit equals statuatory rape for the boy.
In terms of the story, I can't imagine a parent acting like Becky did when she found out. Her demeanor was entirely to calm for the cuelty that she's about to knowingly inflict on her daughter.
